ABOUT ME
Hey there! My name is Lizzie Knapp and I am currently the school counselor for elementary grades (K-4) at Hilburn Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina. I grew up in Northern Virginia with my parents, sister, and my dog, Bonnie. I received my BA in Psychology from Elon University in Burlington, North Carolina, where I also completed coursework in Human Services and Early Childhood Education.
In 2018, I graduated from the University of Virginia with my Master’s of Education in Counselor Education (School Counseling, PK - 12). This is my third year as a school counselor in Wake County, and I am grateful every day that I get to work with the best students in the world! Working with students is my passion -- specifically working towards female empowerment and self esteem in young women, and narrowing the opportunity gap. I am so blessed to serve as an advocate for students, and I love using my role as school counselor to empower children and help them realize their full potential. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring the many parks of Raleigh, practicing and teaching yoga, traveling the world, and cheering on the Washington Capitals! |
